ATTUNEMENT | A 9 DAY RETREAT in GOA, INDIA
with LIZAAN JOUBERT, SWAMI NIVEDANANANDA, ISAAC MULLINS & LUCY HILL | 25th March - 2rd April 2025
Attune to your highest expression of truth - and align with your greatest power.
Join our incredible constellation of teachers and practitioners in India, for a profound journey into self, using ancient practices and the healing power of nature.
This will be Chaya’s 13th year in India and we are deeply honoured as ever to share and experience in this amazing country with you. We promise a wondrous, enchanting and uplifting experience - like no other.
THE EXPERIENCE
This retreat welcomes our understanding, and relationship with our world through deep listening, prioritizing ourselves, then others, and what is cultivated in the world as connection.
Our ability to attune to our lives, our personal place of speaking, breathing and being in our intentions to practice this union, Yoga. Where can we return to the gifts of listening, and learning, and writing our own lyrics of a song we are singing, a prayer we are praying, a story we are telling.
How can we offer this quality of attunement back into nature, in our families, and our community?
How can we be more sustainable, respectful, and adaptable with navigating our capacities, and allowing the full spectrum to live in harmony?
Being in ceremony, being with ritual, practicing story telling with open hearts, is what ignites our sense of belonging and attunement. This has held a life practice for Lizi now over the time of her teachings and this is a deep part of Chaya Yoga Retreat's way of sharing sacred weeks of wisdom. We are so happy to welcome Swami, Isaac and Mother India being the ground beneath our feet, for sharing in this circle of how attunement can be deepend and practiced in body, speech and mind.
Our conditions can often be challenging, yet retreat life is the antidote to all patterns and programming. Listening and prioritizing ourselves brings back curiosity, creativity and an attitude towards the change we can appreciate as our transition and transformation. We invite you to join a deep intimate retreat of personal reflection, deep listening and re-writing the lyrics to your own song, of your highest attunement.

YOUR TEACHER | LIZAAN JOUBERT
Liz brings a unique perspective to the definition and practices of yoga. She offers powerful and insightful classes that hold deep ritual with intention, in sequencing and balancing the body through the postures, breathwork and meditation.
Classes are physically and energetically taught with equal motivation to empower students to grow in personal flexibility and strength, guiding each level and layer to each student's ability. She is inspired by the esoteric subtle body practices, studies of the Chakra System, meditations and teachings rooted in Buddhist Psychology. She approaches physical anatomy and postures from a functional approach to Yoga. Yoga postures are taught with insight to balance and harmonize energy levels and awareness.
She has over 10,000 hrs of teaching experience, and is certified in Ashtanga Methodology, Yin Yoga, and Mandala Movement practices. She's a scholar of Tibetan Buddhist Meditation practices and shares her vast knowledge in a very pragmatic way. She is also an Enlifted Life Coach mentoring group sessions and individual private sessions using Yoga principles and language, as a way to support anyone wanting to deepen personal self-empowerment. Whether you are in the beginning, or growing deeper into the teachings, Yoga allows every practitioner a place of contemplation and exploration.
Based between Greece, Bali, Mexico and South Africa, Liz now teaches a retreat schedule around the world after teaching for 8 years in London’s esteemed yoga studios.

FIRE PUJA & CHANTING | SWAMI NIVEDANANANDA
We are deeply honoured to welcome Swami Nivedanananda to share his incredible practices with us on this retreat. Chaya founder, Lucy first met Swami Nivedanananda when visiting an ashram in India and was deeply moved by his chanting and puja.
Swami Nivedanananda was born and raised in Kerala, South India. After his school education he joined the Sivagiri Sree Narayana Math in Kerala where he received a traditional seven year education in Sanskrit, Vedanta, the Yoga Sutras, the Gita, tantric pujas and rituals. While he was still very young he took his monastic vows. Later Swamiji also received his Yoga Teacher Training and Advanced Yoga Teacher Training certificates through the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center.
During his years at the Sivananda Ashram in Neyyar Dam, he gave countless Hatha Yoga and Vedic chanting classes. Many of his friends remember him with love, as the priest of the ashram temples who performed all the daily rituals, for which he was responsible for more than 10 years.
In 2011, Swamiji left the Sivananda organization and has since then been teacher, pujari, and co-leading manager of the Sivananda Yoga Vidya Peetham Trusts.
BREATHWORK + ICE BATH THERAPY | ISAAC MULLINS
Isaac's exploration into the power of the breath and body began in 1997 with the practice of Ashtanga Yoga. His quest for optimal breathing techniques and body conditioning was initially ignited to optimise his performance as a ballet dancer with the Royal Ballet.
Throughout his transformative journey, Isaac has explored a diverse array of breathing practices, each playing a pivotal role in shaping his expertise and personal well-being. His deep-rooted knowledge encompasses the disciplined realm of Hatha yoga and yoga therapy, a wisdom acquired over many years spent in India studying the science and psychology of yoga.
Isaac has trained in many transformative techniques, including the profound Buteyko method and the invigorating practices of the Wim Hof method.
Isaac will be leading an ice bath and breath work workshop during the retreat - designed to enliven, revitalise and elevate your overall wellbeing and boost mental clarity.
CHANTING & SONG | CHAYA FOUNDER LUCY HILL
This year marks the 13th year of Chaya retreats, curated and guided by Lucy, who has over 15 years of experience in events and wellbeing experiences. Lucy will host the retreat, alongside Lizaan and also lead singing and chanting. These powerful practices will help you connect to your voice and heart, in turn empowering you with greater access to sharing your truth.

And for those looking for more adventure, a stop-over in Mumbai to experience fascinating, Indian city life, can be a great addition to your trip. As can extending your stay post-retreat. India has so much to offer!

However should you arrive on an early flight on the retreat start day, access to facilities will be available, including showers and pool, until rooms are ready.
