LOCATION | NEW HOUSE FARM, EAST SUSSEX
We’re delighted to share a new UK Chaya retreat space with you, the beautiful New House Farm.
The 12 acre estate, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, is absolutely perfect for retreats.
The beautifully and luxuriously renovated farmhouse, with the 6 adjoining individual lodges, means lots of space for yogis. And along with a huge dedicated yoga barn, all surrounded by panoramic views for miles over untouched rural valley landscapes.
The estate includes outdoor heated pool, dedicated therapies area, numerous gardens, horse riding / training arena, giant hot tub with epic valley views, bountiful private walks along the banks of the river Rother. Roam the pretty private woodlands, wildflower meadow and paddocks.
YOGA
As ever you will practice twice per day, with the mornings being a more dynamic practice, also incorporating meditation and pranayama (breathing exercises. The evening practice is slower and more yin energy focussed - to allow and encourage deep rest and inner peace.
All our teachers are close friends and highly experienced in their style and we guarantee a beautifully held, inspiring and nourishing practice. We welcome yogis of all levels of experience and age. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out.
The teacher for this retreat will be announced closer to the event.
MENUS | CHAYA KITCHEN
As ever, Laura and Lucy will be using organic, local and seasonal fruit and vegetables as the basis of the weekend’s menus. Full of tasty super foods, designed to nourish and energise you mentally and physically, our plant-based menus are always exciting - and beyond delicious.
Everything we create in the kitchen is nutritionally balanced and easy to digest, whilst being almost always entirely homemade, from the gluten-free breads to the plant mylks and raw chocolate. We don’t use processed or refined foods and our menus are naturally gluten, dairy and refined sugar-free. We like to create as much alkalinity in the body as possible with our food, with your best digestion in mind.
We promise each meal will be bursting with goodness and flavour and will look as good on your plate as feels in your stomach. This retreat will be especially directed at boosting your immune system and gut health, aligning with the transitions of the season.
Being super-foodie's at heart, we ensure there's absolutely never any compromise on any aspect of the eating experience. We look forward to surprising and delighting you in just how good truly healthy food can taste and feel.
THE RETREAT
During our three days and three nights, you’ll have plenty of time and space to do whatever you feel - whether that be rambling through the countryside, or cosied up in your PJ’s with a book, we always encourage you to do whatever your body tells you. We curate a selection of tools and experiences for you to partake in - if you wish. However please know, there is no obligation to participate in any aspect of the retreat, it’s your time and our greatest wish is for you to honour yourself and your needs.
Although this isn’t a ‘digital detox’, during our retreats, we invite guests to disconnect as much as possible from the outside world. Meaning limiting (or completely avoiding id possible!) phone and internet use. In our experience, this supports a much deeper connection with the retreat experience and greater rejuvenation.
COVID
This retreat is designed to allow you to be able to follow your own personal approach to social distancing. There will be plenty of space on the grounds to separate yourself should you wish. We will not however be enforcing any social distancing or mask wearing.
We wish to lovingly point out that this retreat is about coming back to being together, in community. We believe that finding joy by being together, as a family, is one of the most needed medicines of our turbulent times. Therefore everyone who joins this retreat will do so at their own risk. Or rather, in their own trust!
With the above in mind, we ask that you tune in to your own feelings about being in a community space before signing up. Necessary and sensible precaution will be requested by all attendees. We are requesting full self-responsibility in regards to COVID protocol and this includes the following recommendations and actions:
Guests are recommended to self-isolate or limit social interaction during the week prior to the retreat
Temperature checks will be held upon arrival of all guests
Should any guests feel any symptoms they are concerned about, they are advised to not attend and will be able to transfer their payment to a future Chaya retreat
Meals will be served to the group on a shared table - however should you wish to eat separately this can be supported
Yoga will take place in a large barn, with plenty of space between guests
Yoga props will be distributed at the beginning of the weekend for continued personal use by individuals - however as always we encourage you to bring your personal favourites if you have them
Please ensure you take appropriate insurance for your retreat. Coverage to include cancellation of retreat due to force majeure (i.e. travel restriction enforced by the government) and Covid related illness. Should either of the above occur, we will do our best to transfer your booking to another retreat - but this cannot be guaranteed.
