LUCY HILL & THE CHAYA FAMILY
9th-12th OCTOBER 2020
Calling yourself back home. To being, to truth, to love, in community.
Join the Chaya Family for a long weekend of deep relaxation, connection and healing.
Three days of pure nourishment, designed to bring happiness to your body, peace to your mind and joy to your heart. Rejuvenate, rest and reconnect to yourself, in the sanctuary of our loving community.
The act of being fully present with oneself, with all that is in our inner and outer realms, is one of the greatest and most healing actions we can take. We invite you to join us. To nourish yourself with our beautiful communal practices, incredible organic menus, inspiring workshops, healing treatments, joyful togetherness - and lots of rest in the peaceful English countryside.
Come home to you, with us.
LOCATION | NEW HOUSE FARM, EAST SUSSEX
We’re delighted to share a new UK Chaya retreat space with you, the beautiful New House Farm. The 12 acre estate, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, is absolutely perfect for retreats.
The beautifully and luxuriously renovated farmhouse, with its 6 adjoining individual lodges, means lots of space for yogis. And along with a huge dedicated yoga barn, all surrounded by panoramic views for miles over untouched rural valley landscapes, it will provide the ideal sanctuary for weary hearts and minds.
The estate also includes outdoor heated pool, dedicated therapies area, numerous gardens, horse riding / training arena, a giant hot tub with epic valley views. We’ll have plenty of time to roam the pretty private woodlands, wildflower meadow and paddocks and the bountiful private walks along the banks of the river Rother.
YOGA | PAULA ANDREEWITCH
We are overjoyed to be creating a retreat with one of our favourite teachers again.
Paula shares her joyful approach to yoga through somatic and soulful movement explorations, interwoven with inspirational philosophy and sacred sound. Inspired by nature, she is interested in universal movement principles and how they help us to enjoy moving with a sense of freedom, steadiness and integration. She teaches with more questions than answers and encourages listening deeply, responding mindfully, and inquiring into the mind-body-spirit with curiosity and open awareness. She has been practicing yoga for 15 years and teaches weekly classes in London, and workshops and retreats around the world.

THE PRACTICE
During our retreat, Paula will guide you through a powerful and healing combination of a dynamic practice in the morning and a more introspective, somatic, restorative practice in the evening. Our intention on this retreat is to help you connect to your heart space. Through asana (physical practice), meditation, kirtan (chanting) and pranayama (breathing exercises), our twice daily sessions will begin with making space to allow for deeper listening... Gently airing out cluttered minds and bodies in order to allow release of what isn't serving you and make way for you to hear your highest wisdom.
MENUS | CHAYA KITCHEN
As ever, Laura and Lucy will be using organic, local and seasonal fruit and vegetables as the basis of the weekend’s menus. Full of tasty super foods, designed to nourish and energise you mentally and physically, our plant-based menus are always exciting - and beyond delicious.
Everything we create in the kitchen is nutritionally balanced and easy to digest, whilst being almost always entirely homemade, from the gluten-free breads to the plant mylks and raw chocolate. We don’t use processed or refined foods and our menus are naturally gluten, dairy and refined sugar-free. We like to create as much alkalinity in the body as possible with our food, with your best digestion in mind.
We promise each meal will be bursting with goodness and flavour and will look as good on your plate as feels in your stomach. This retreat will be especially directed at boosting your immune system and gut health, aligning with the transitions of the season.
Being super-foodie's at heart, we ensure there's absolutely never any compromise on any aspect of the eating experience. We look forward to surprising and delighting you in just how good truly healthy food can taste and feel.
THERAPY | JUDIT YAGUE
Included in the retreat cost, will be a 1 hour treatment with Chaya resident masseuse and healer, Judit Yague. Judit as many of you will know, is a very special addition to any retreat. She has been practicing in the healing arts for nearly 20 years. Drawing from her many trainings across massage therapy, holistic practices and yoga teacher trainings, her uniquely intuitive practice is profound. Judit will be offering EMF and Theta healing in additional to her Alternative Healing Massage.

THERAPY | PHYSIOTHERAPY AND SPORTS MASSAGE | LAURIE NEALL
Laurie Neall is founder & lead therapist of The Soft Tissue Centre; one of London's leading sports massage clinics based at W10. Laurie's slow, thoughtful treatments begin with a postural screen & movement assessment followed by deep massage, myo-fascial release and active release techniques to really overcome painful symptoms and provide you with a foundation for pain-free movement. Laurie will be available throughout our retreat offering deeply relaxing treatments between asana practice.

WORKSHOP | INSPIRATIONAL BREATHING | NICOLA PRICE
When we use conscious, connected breathing, we can remove unhelpful patterns of behaviour and release deeply-held layers of trauma and pain. When you retrain your breath, you learn how to live with freedom and joy. During our 2 hour workshop, Nicola will show you how to rediscover the fully-flowing breath you were born with. Inspirational Breathing will empower you to tap into your subconscious and transform deeply rooted beliefs and patterns. It can awaken and release suppressed emotions, past trauma and latent stress held within the body, creating space freedom and joy.

THE RETREAT
During our three days and three nights, you’ll have plenty of time and space to do whatever you feel - whether that be rambling through the countryside, or cosied up in your PJ’s with a book, we always encourage you to do whatever your body tells you. We will curate a selection of tools and experiences for you to partake in - if you wish. However please know, there is no obligation to participate in any aspect of the retreat, it’s your time and our greatest wish is for you to honour yourself and your needs.
Although this isn’t a ‘digital detox’, during our retreats, we invite guests to disconnect as much as possible from the outside world. Meaning limiting (or completely avoiding if possible!) phone and internet use. In our experience, this supports a much deeper connection with the retreat experience and greater rejuvenation.
COVID
This retreat is designed to allow you to be able to follow your own personal approach to social distancing. There will be plenty of space on the grounds to separate yourself should you wish. We will not however be enforcing any social distancing or mask wearing.
We wish to lovingly point out that this retreat is about being together, in community. We believe that finding joy by being together, as a family, is one of the most needed medicines of our turbulent times. Therefore everyone who joins this retreat will do so at their own risk. Or rather, in their own trust!
With the above in mind, we ask that you tune in to your own feelings about being in a community space before signing up. Necessary and sensible precaution will be requested by all attendees. We are requesting full self-responsibility in regards to COVID protocol and this includes the following recommendations and actions:
Guests are recommended to self-isolate or limit social interaction during the week prior to the retreat
Temperature checks will be held upon arrival of all guests
Should guests feel any symptoms they are concerned about, they are advised to not attend - and will receive credit for 50% of the retreat payment, transferable to a future Chaya retreat
Meals will be served to the group on a shared table - however should you wish to eat separately this can be supported
Yoga will take place in a large barn, with plenty of space between guests
Yoga props will be distributed at the beginning of the weekend for continued personal use by individuals - however as always we encourage you to bring your personal favourites if you have them
Please ensure you take appropriate insurance for your retreat. Coverage to include cancellation of retreat due to force majeure (i.e. travel restriction enforced by the government) and Covid related illness. Should either of the above occur, we will do our best to transfer your booking to another retreat - but this cannot be guaranteed.
